James Swain is a best-selling crime fiction writer with 15 published books. He came to me with something of a theme running through his most recent Billy Cunningham series of books using big, strong typographic treatments. This particular novel takes place in Las Vegas, so a gambling motif made sense to give the overall impression of wealth and glitz. It's also always a pleasure to work with a short, powerful book title. It almost designed itself.
